New Girls Program Director, Celia Balf, Joins PSU Team



Celia Balf Bolsters An Already Impressive Roster Of Coaches At Park Slope United


(Brooklyn, NY) May 27, 2020 – Park Slope United, Brooklyn’s premiere youth development program, is proud to announce the new Park Slope United Girls Soccer Travel Program Director, Celia Balf. Celia will join the Park Slope United team during the summer in preparation for the 2020/21 upcoming season. “I’m thrilled to join Park Slope United as Director of the Girls Travel Program. The level of excellence, passion, and commitment I’ve already seen makes me overjoyed to join the PSU family. I look forward to guiding these young girls through these exciting next steps in their soccer career and beyond.” said Celia. 

Celia is a former Division 1 soccer player turned digital content producer and sports journalist. She stayed close to the beautiful game by working for the National Women’s Soccer League as a content producer, Major League Soccer as a social media producer, as well as covering soccer for NBC Olympics. She’s been published in sports publications like Yahoo! Sports, Men’s Health,,, SBNation, and more. She’s consistently juggled writing and producing with coaching, mentoring, and tutoring younger girls.

Welcoming Celia to the team only solidifies Park Slope United as the premiere youth sports and personal development program in Brooklyn. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for Celia and our girls program.” She joins an already impressive squad of coaches and directors that include past national team players for XXX countries, ex-professional athletes, DI-DIII collegiate athletes, as well as coaches and staff that have worked throughout the soccer world in various capacities. 

Park Slope United’s Girls Soccer Program has doubled year over year since the club established the program. The program has multiple travel teams playing at different age groups. On top of the already impressive roster of young female athletes a part of the club, PSU’s Girls Soccer Program also operates a development program where players can learn the fundamentals of the beautiful game in a friendly and less competitive atmosphere. As the players develop the club has different programs to allow for a player to pursue whatever type of play style they choose – from the highly competitive Travel Program to the friendlier Select League. Park Slope United offers something for everyone.
