Ethan Metelenis Joins PSU’s Executive Team To Continue Pursuit Of Building NYC’s Premier Sports Club

(Brooklyn, NY) January 5, 2021 – Park Slope United, Brooklyn’s premier youth development program, is proud to announce Ethan Metelenis will be joining Park Slope United as Chief Operating Officer. Some of you might have had the opportunity to meet him prior to the start of the pandemic as he was assistant coaching our Galacticos and Chelsea teams alongside Kempy and James, as well as coaching Developmental and Tot Footy classes. He has already begun working on projects we hope to share in the coming weeks that will help not only improve the player’s on-field experience, but our families and parents experience as well (registration, information for classes and programs, communications for all members, and more).

Ethan joins the Park Slope United family after working alongside PSU as a consultant over the last year and playing a crucial role in ensuring our operations were safe while continuing to provide the top tier experience on the field our families expect. Before joining PSU, Ethan was the Global Licensing Manager for APAC and AMER, as well as Operations Manager for North America at Tough Mudder (the global leader in obstacle events and racing). There he oversaw dozens of 15,000+ people events from all over the world, as well as helped operate, market, and work with the professional athletes for their made for television event – Tough Mudder X. He started his career as a publicist working out of New York, but working for Hollywood A-listers like Chris Brown, Tyrese Jack Reynor and Jason Biggs helping continue to grow their brands and manage all events associated with them.

Ethan is a born and raised New Yorker, although he is currently based out of Boston with his wife Mary. He grew up in lower Manhattan and played soccer for local clubs while growing up. He attended Poly Prep Country Day School in Bay Ridge. We are very excited to have him join the PSU family and help continue improving the club and the development our players can achieve.

“I am very excited to be joining the Park Slope United community. After coaching for a little over a year, and falling in love with the community, the families, coaches, and all things PSU – there was little hesitation for me to join in a more dedicated role. One of the reasons I joined the club, and began coaching here in the first place, was my own history with sports and youth development. Having played for other local soccer clubs, and gone on to play competitive sports throughout high school and college, I knew I wanted to work alongside dedicated coaches like the ones here at PSU, and help provide growth, development and opportunities for young players to continue to pursue their passions in soccer and beyond. I am thrilled for the upcoming year as we will be implementing a number of new projects and partnerships that will continue to serve the PSU community. We will continue to look for all opportunities to improve the experience you all have on, and off the field.

The Park Slope United program is one of the premier programs in the city, and Nate, Dom, Kempy, and myself have high goals and expectations for the club, its players and everyone in between. We will continue to deliver the world class experience PSU has become synonymous with while providing new and improved ways of interacting with the club.”

Park Slope United’s goal is to build the premier sports club in the USA, that makes the most difference to the sporting and character development of each player, while making a positive impact on the well-being of their families. Throughout the history of the club we’ve reinvested nearly all of the profits back in the club, and we are prepared to continue to do this for the foreseeable future in order to achieve our lofty mission!

Ethan and the team will be spearheading a number of new initiatives that will continue to provide the best experience for our players, families and coaches. This includes communication, registration process, and so much more. Please feel free to welcome Ethan to the club (his information is below), and excited to kick off 2021!
